Papertrey Posse Petite Challenge

Hi-ya!

How is everyone enjoying this lazy Saturday afternoon?

I'm doing just that. And procrastinating terribly. I have a paper due tomorrow night and I'm avoiding it like the plague.

So how about a card today?
This month Becky is our hostess over at Papertrey Posse and she's come up with two fun challenges! The first one I wanted to tackle was our Petite Challenge for the month - to make a Spring themed card.

(Psst....there's still time to play along. The challenge is open until March 31!)

If you're like me, I equate spring with rain and rain with super-cute umbrellas like these from Vera Bradley:
I pulled out my Scattered Showers set from PTI, that has been terribly neglected and got to work.

There are a couple of new things for me on this card. I'm not one to typically fussy cut and object, but I cut out the umbrellas and was pretty happy with myself. Hand-drawn lines and frames have also been really popular in the recent past, and it's something I hadn't tried yet. I think the two lines ground the card well. I sent this card to my friend Katie. I hope it brightens her day.

I should get to work on that paper!

Thanks for stopping by.

Love that color scheme, and the lines are a great anchor to the card. Fantastic!

Vera makes umbrellas? This is such a nice layout, Amy. Your friend will love it.

I like a lot of the elements on this card Amy. I think the three umbrellas looked so nicely paper pieced. The neutral focal point base was really nice rounded on the edges and lastly, the hand drawn lines really did add some "grounding" to the images. Great job on the challenge.

I love this! I am a fussy-cutter, so I especially enjoyed your card, lol. Love the frame too.
