Papertrey Posse July Parade of Blogs

Wow! I can't believe it's the 15th already!

This month I am the Papertrey Posse hostess and I decided to challenge everyone to use a color combo, of Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, Melon Berry (my arch nemesis) and Dark Chocolate.

I did a lot of thinking about this card before I actually put it together- a LOT more mental sketching than I normally put into a card.

This is what I came up with:

I've been really itching to ink up my Butterfly Dreams stamps - and use the Polka Dot Impression Plate. I have to say, after purchasing the Tin Types Impression plate first, I wasn't sold on the concept as a whole. I made trade on the forum for the Polka Dot plate and I have to say I'm in LOVE! I'm not sure this is going to be a good thing for my wallet!

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this card. I (and in this case by I, I really mean DH) colored the ribbon to match the Melon Berry CS.

Supplies
Stamps :: PTI - Butterfly Dreams

Ink :: PTI - Dark Chocolate
Cardstock :: PTI - Ocean Tides, Melon Berry, Aqua Mist, Dark Chocolate
Other :: PTI- Polka Dot Impression Plate; Ribbon- My Mind's Eye; Rhinestones - PTI

Thanks for stopping by!

LOL'ing at your new-found appreciation for the impression plate! I just ordered my first one last night (canvas/linen) and can't wait to try it. Love the card, I've had Butterfly Dreams on my wishlist, but I settled for just getting the die for now. Thanks for the fun challenge!

Amy, this is a wonderful card...great balancing placement of butterflies. And your husband did a fantastic job coloring the ribbon. Whodathunk that guys would have any creativity in them, eh? ;)

Ames, great card! And yes Ted, I did pick up a little creativity while I was in art school getting degrees in both art education and painting/drawing. I'm fully qualified to color ribbon

This is so pretty! I have one impression plate too, not sure about adding to my collection. I prefer embossing folders.
