Falling for You

I LOVE the stamps from the PTI August release. Heather's new set Falling Leaves is one of my favorites. I'm continuing to work my way through the CPS sketches.

Here's my take on it:

I stole Dawn McVey's idea for a sentiment. I think my favorite element is the four leaves along the bottom.  I hope to sneak this into DH's work bag one day as a surprise.

Just one of those cards...

...that doesn't work out quite like you hoped.  I'm still working my way through the CPS sketches.

I had great plans for this card - and a great sketch. I just didn't work through the logistics well enough and all my elements didn't fit. I tried to make it work, and while the results are not horrible - I'm still disappointed that it didn't live up to my original idea.

Next Monday is the first day of school here in our county and my DH is not excited to go back.

I've made really good friends with the music teacher on DH's teaching team and I wanted to made her a card for the first day of school. I followed CPS Sketch #4 for this card (slightly out of order).

The inside says "only 179 days left!"

This card was the first time I used my Four of a Kind set. It's such a fantastic set and I'm so glad I was able to use a proxy (thank you again Mary) to earn it.

Hoping you're fully Re-covered

A couple of weeks ago I took a challenge from Erica to play along as she worked her way through the CPS sketches, starting at #1. I haven't done so well, up to this point I've only finished one card. Tonight I got to sit down and play a little and worked on sketch #2

The three strips on this one challenged me, but when I decided to use if for my sentiment it all came together for me.

I used the circle pattern on the couch, and used both sides of the sunshine impression plate - oh how I love it!!
You can't see it in the picture, but I stamped the rug from On my Couch Additions under the couch to ground in.

Ticket to Celebrate

Erica over at Papertrails had a great idea - to go through the CPS sketches, starting with number 1 and working her way through. I decided this would be a great way to break through my fluctuating mojo issues and get working again.

This is the first CPS sketch, from back in 2007

When I first saw this I saw a pile of tickets and it all came together from there.

I completely love Harvest Gold - I'm going to have to order more with my next order - I can already tell.
